The removal of an existing field requires the use of an experienced company because the difference in cost to the owner could be in excess of $40,000. The cost concern isn't just the quoted price for the turf removal but more importantly for the owner, how much damage is done to the subsurface under the field during the process. The cost to the owner to have the remediation work done once the subbase under the existing fields is damaged, could be staggering.

The subbase under the field is owned by the school or parks department and you don't want to sacrifice what you own by allowing an experienced contractor to tear it up while removing the existing field. If you have a stone subbase under your field an the contractor turns and mixes up the drainage stone too much it could effect the drainage of the new field. Very few if any contract will cover the drainage of the existing subbase so it is very important to have a experienced company handling this work so it does create a potential terrible situation.
